The end of summer is always bittersweet. The excitement of school starting. The dread of school starting. The end of hot weather. The end of light and warmth. Autumn is beautiful. It may be my favorite seasons. But it is busy. I try to remember to get up from my desk and go take walks. Here is a picture from one I took with my dog. The Oregon Coast in Winter
Having luckily won a raffle for a weekend stay at a beach cabin in Oceanside, we braved the awful road conditions the weekend before Christmas to escape Portland's snow/ice event and have an "unplugged" weekend (aka no wi-fi.) I thought it would be relaxing, and it was, but what I didn't know is that it would turn into the singularly most beautiful weekend I've ever spent at the Oregon Coast. Here is one shot from Oceanside's "hidden" beach. It's not secret, mind you, just hidden except at low tide.
